Denly vs Claude Code Remote Control

Updated 2026-11-06

You do not need Denly just to reach Claude Code from a phone. Compare Claude’s native session tools with the project queue and review policy you want to operate around your agents.

Denly is a control plane for coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Grok Build, Antigravity) that run on your own machines using your vendor subscription or API key. It manages tasks, plans and reviews across projects; Git-backed tasks can open pull requests, while no-Git projects end with a review of local changes.

Our trade-off, first.Work runs only while your machine is awake and online: queued work waits for an available runner. Your Git host receives pushed code and your AI provider receives the context its CLI sends. Denly receives selected uploads, including READMEs, plans, transcripts and no-Git review diffs, that can contain source; see the data boundary and optional encryption coverage.

Free and paid Denly plans. Free is for one person with two machines and one active task per machine; storage, schedules and enrollments also have limits. Pro adds parallel execution and higher limits; Teams adds seats and shared workspaces. Your existing vendor subscription or API key pays for AI usage under that provider's terms. Denly never marks up tokens and does not add provider allowance. See pricing and all plan limits.

When to pick Claude Code’s native tools

Our recommendation: start with native tools when Claude Code is your chosen runtime and session access or parallel local work is the problem you need to solve. If the required environment fits cloud execution, evaluate that option before adding another control plane.

Denly adds runner enrollment, project configuration, another service and its own limits. It does not improve Claude's model allowance or remove provider policies. For a single developer who already has a workable Claude workflow, those costs may outweigh the extra coordination.

When to pick Denly

Evaluate Denly when tasks arrive from several projects or teams, runtime choice varies by project, and you need the plan decision and PR review recorded in a shared workflow. Its value here is the combination you operate, not the existence of a remote screen or an approval button.

Make the gates policy. Denly's supervised flow is submit task → approve plan → build and run configured checks on the runner → review the PR and decide whether to merge. Workspace flow policy can require a minimum or exact flow. Keep Autopilot disabled when human approval is mandatory: if an owner/admin enables it and a creator opts a task in, that task skips human gates. See flows and gates.

Denly connects 15 tracker and chat tools, including Jira, Linear and Slack. Connections can route tasks to projects and members; Teams permissions and assignments govern shared projects. Each runtime must be installed and authenticated on its runner. This combination is our reason to consider Denly, not a claim that other products lack integrations or collaboration.

Keeping execution on your machine does not make the whole system offline. Read the data boundary, including provider context, selected uploads and optional encryption coverage.

See the illustrated workflow demo, then follow the setup documentation with a small task and explicit acceptance checks.

Questions people ask

Can Claude Code already work from my phone?

Yes. Claude Code Remote Control connects a local session to a browser or the Claude iOS and Android apps. The computer and Claude process must remain available.

Does Claude Code already manage parallel agents?

Yes. Claude Code agent view manages background sessions on your machine. It is documented as a research preview. A multi-session screen is not an exclusive Denly feature.

Does Claude have cloud sessions too?

Yes. Claude cloud sessions documents hosted execution and organization self-hosted environments. Do not confuse those sessions with Remote Control of a local process.

Are Denly approvals always mandatory?

Use a required workspace flow and leave Autopilot disabled for mandatory human gates. An owner/admin can enable Autopilot and a creator can opt an eligible task in; that skips human approvals while keeping configured checks.
